Setting goals gives you a solid point in the future to look forward to. Without set goals, you will be less likely to stay with your weight loss program.


Keep track of how much you lose weight each week. Maintain a journal in which you track the weekly changes in your weight. Pick out an attractive journal and keep all of your records in it. Hold yourself accountable,and write down each thing that you eat. You won’t want it as much once you have written it down and you see it in black and white.


When you allow yourself to get very hungry, you will be far more likely to make poor choices. You may end up eating whatever is on hand rather than making a more healthful choice. You will save lots of money and get a better quality of food. Take a two-pronged approach to weight loss by combining your diet with an exercise regime. To maintain your motivation level, you need to select physical activities that you enjoy doing as part of your exercise plan. Some activities that you may want to try include joining a dance class or sports team, or going for a walk, run or swim with a friend. Use your imagination, and it won’t be hard to come up with ways you can get a little more exercise in your daily life.


If you want to avoid the junk food, simply don’t make it available. You could hide your junk food, but you would probably be better of not buying it at all. Surrounding yourself with healthier food will encourage you to eat more of it.


Inform others of your workout goals. They can inspire you to truly reach that weight loss goal. Be sure to take time with your supporters to prevent running out of motivation. Their encouragement can help you stay motivated.
